Barron and Beverly Walker are, in many ways, an ordinary couple. They have 5 kids and 8 grandkids, live in a midwestern city, and both are very engaged in their family, caring for elderly parents and grandkids and helping their neighbors.

Barron and Beverly are typical in other ways of families in their zip code, 53206. Having been a party to a crime during his youth, Barron was incarcerated from his early 20's. 53206 is the zip code with the highest rate of incarceration of African-American men per capita in the US. The film tells the story of a committed, loving family swept up in the tumult of the dysfunction of the cradle to prison pipeline.

Following the screening, (have your tissues ready!), Beverly and Barron with tell you about their journey, and their current commitment to SKY Schools in Milwaukee--an area that has been profoundly impacted by both the public health and economic devastation of the pandemic.

Your donation helps us sustain the Milwaukee program and its expansion to include Chicago! Please give as you can.
