Barron and Beverly Walker are, in many ways, an ordinary couple. They have 5 kids and 8 grandkids, live in a midwestern city, and both are very engaged in their family, caring for elderly parents and grandkids and helping their neighbors.

The film tells the story of a committed, loving family swept up in the tumult of the dysfunction of the cradle to prison pipeline.
